Mashed Fruits
Most babies love fruits as thats the maximum sweet they get to eat. The mix described below is also useful in relieving the baby from constipation. If baby’s stomach is fine then you can go on to strain a few pieces of mashed apple to this fruit chaat as well.
Ingredients :
- 1/2 a pomegranate
- 1/2 a sweet lime (musambi)
- 1 small banana
Procedure :
- Take out the seeds of the pomegranate.
- Strain it with the mashed banana.
- Squeeze the juice of sweet lime into it.
- If baby doesnt have constipation mash an apple into it too.

Hi Roma, this is a great page ! i was looking for recipes for my 6 month old and your site comes as a blessing !
just one question though, do you have anything specific for daycare babies?
Neha
Hi Neha,
Currently I dont have any recipes specific for daycare babies. Food packed for them should be ideally such that it tastes good even when cold. For instance – cheese sandwiches, sweet puris, mint rice, etc.
one question. when you say take out the seeds of pomegranate and strain it with mashed banana, how can one strain pomegranate? and why would you strain mash banana it is so soft by itself. i m sorry if i have misunderstood the recipe here and would be thank ful if you could explain it a bit as i want to start giving mix fruit mash to my baby.
kindly reply

Hi Kavita,
You need to press the pomegranate seeds with a fork and mash them through the strainer. That ensures that no seeds have gone through. Mashing banana with a fork and feeding works great. The idea of mashing pomegranate seeds and banana together is to eventually get a lump-free, homogenous mixture.
Hope this helps.
Take care,
Roma
